Myingyan General Hospital opens new maternity ward

Myingyan General Hospital received a new 3-storey building to expand its maternity ward, donated by the Thukhita Family, in a handing over ceremony at the hospital’s compound in Mandalay Region yesterday.


Firstly, the new ward building was formally opened with a ribbon-cutting formality by regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Soe Than, Permanent Secretary Prof. Dr. Thet Khaing Win from the Ministry of Health and Sports, Acting Director-General Dr. Soe Oo of the Public Health and Medical Services, and Daw Cho Cho Win and Daw Tin Aye Thant from the donor Thukhita Family.
Secondly, Union Minister Dr. Myint Htwe and regional Chief Minister Dr. Zaw Myint Maung unveiled the new ward’s signboard and then toured the interior of the building.


The Union Minister also delivered a speech at the ceremony, highlighting the benefit it will bring to people in the region and said his ministry will be providing the necessary medicine and apparatus for the new ward.


The regional Chief Minister and U Htay Win, member of the Myingyan General Hospital Support Committee, delivered separate gratitude speeches and Daw Cho Cho Win from the donor family also explained their donation of the building.


The Union Minister then discussed the all-round development of Myingyan hospital with hospital staff and supporting professionals, they presented their requirements, and officials made arrangements as necessary.


U Shein, Daw Pu Lay, and their daughters Daw Cho Cho Win and Daw Tin Aye Thant, of Thukhita Family donated K600 million for constructing the maternity ward, which was completed on 31 December 2018.
