A one-storey home from Ward-2 in NyaungU Township, Mandalay Region was badly damaged after a tree fell on it following the heavy rains hit the area on October 12.
Officials from the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement provided cash assistance and relief items to the house owner on the morning of October 13. Employees from the DDM supplied K 108,400 and 17 kinds of relief items to the home owner to buy construction materials and rice.
Local firefighters, policemen and security personnel were involved in the rescue operation and no casualties were reported in the incident.
