Negligence fire consumes one house in Mawlamyinegyun

No casualties were reported in a negligence fire in Mawlamyinegyun Township, Ayeyawady Region.

Upon receiving a phone information, firefighters together with security personnel, policemen, employees from the General Administration Department and members of the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) rushed to the scene of the fire. The fire broke out at a house of a man identified as U Tun Kyi, Ward-3 in Mawlamyinegyun early this morning. The fire is attributed to have started from ember in the kitchen and engulfed one house.

 

Firefighters brought the fire under control at 3:40 a.m. and took about 80 minutes to completely put out the flame with the use of three fire engines, two water tankers, and fire extinguishers. Action is being taken against the house owner over fire negligence by the local police station.—Aung Aung (IPRD)
