Negligence fire torches three houses in Htantabin Township

No casualties were reported after a fire broke out in Htantabin Township, Yangon Region early this morning, according to a source from the township fire brigade.

 

The fire broke out in Atwin Yekyaw Village, Htantabin Township at around 2 a.m. today. According to a phone call from a village administrator, a group of firefighters led by the deputy commander of the township fire brigade rushed to the scene of the fire where they took about an hour to put out the blaze with the use of two fire engines.   

 

The fire is believed to have started from the ember in the kitchen of a house belonging to a woman named Daw Khin Win. The ember spread nearby dry wooden sticks, engulfing three wooden houses. The estimated loss of property due to the fire is about Ks. 1.55 million.

 

In connection with the fire, the house owner has been charged with fire negligence by the local police station.—Zin Min Htike
