New school building handed over to BEMS in Bago Township

A ceremony to hand over a new school facility to Basic Education Middle School (Branch), Shwe Min Gan in Payagyi, Bago Township was held this morning.

At the ceremony, Bago Chief Minister U Win Thein, Regional Minister for Social Affairs Daw Nyunt Nyunt Htay, Deputy Director of Bago Education Office Daw May Thet Nwe and donor Daw Htiek Htiek Han formally opened the building and sprinkled the scented water on its stone inscription.

Afterwards, the regional chief minister made opening remarks and the donor clarified the purpose of the donation. The proper documents relating to the facility were handed over to the deputy director of the regional education office.

The chief minister and officials presented a certificate of honor to the donors. And gifts were presented to dance troupes that participated in the ceremony and footballs to students.
 
The new facility which is 75 feet long and 30 feet wide was constructed at a cost of over K 24.8 million. The Basic Education Middle School (Branch) Shwe Min Gan was opened on 27 July 1991 and it was upgraded into the BEMS (Branch) on 1 June, 2016 with 11 teachers and 471 students.
