The new Yangon-Mawlamyine-Yangon Up and Down trains commenced operations on 13 May, according to the head of Mawlamyine Railway Station.
In addition to the regular Down train that departs Mawlamyine for Yangon at 8:30 am, a new Down train will also run at 9:15 am.
Similarly, the regular Up train leaves Yangon for Mawlamyine at 6:15 am, and a new Up train will additionally run at 7:30 am.
Tickets for the extended train journeys can be booked one day in advance. Tickets for the regular trains are available from 7 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 3 pm.
Furthermore, upper-class tickets can be booked three days in advance, while ordinary-class tickets can be booked one day in advance. — ASH/TRKM
