Newly-built school handed over to education department

A ceremony to hand over a newly-built school was held in front of Mokkali village Basic Education High School in Homalin township, Sagaing region this morning. 

Deputy township Education Officer U Than Tun, headmistress Daw Khin Marlar Oo of Myintha Basic Education High School and Mokkali village administrator U Than Lwin formally opened the school building by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. In the second part of the event, deputy township education officer U Than Tun reported on educational developments in the township. Then, the village administrator U Than Lwin explained matters relating to the construction of the new school building, handing out commemorative flags to relevant officials. Afterwards, schoolchildren performed dances. 

The new school building measuring 100 ft in length, 32 ft in width, 22 ft in height was constructed at a cost of K 50 million donated by well-wishers. The school building will provide class rooms for 200 students.—Lin Lin (IPRD)
