Online training seminar held for safety measures in transporting COVID-19 patients

The National Volunteers Steering Unit and the Myanmar Medical Association jointly conducted an online seminar for ambulance drivers and volunteers in regions/states and Nay Pyi Taw Council Area yesterday for their safety measures in transporting COVID-19 patients.


Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye, Deputy Minister U Soe Aung, the Permanent Secretary, Director-General, President and Vice-President of MMA and other officials of Social Welfare Department joined the seminar.


The Union Minister said that National Volunteers Steering Unit gathered the volunteers for their safety measures.


The present campaign is the third time, and a total of 231 volunteers from Nay Pyi Taw Council, Kayah, Mon and Rakhine states, Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing and Bago regions have joined the campaign to date.


Currently, 164 volunteers from Kayin and Chin states, Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing and Magway regions participate in the latest seminar.


He also discussed structure of ambulance, processes of ventilators, healthcare for patients with chronic diseases, proper use and disposal of PPE, guidance to treat the expectant mothers with COVID-19 and publishing of volunteer handbooks and appreciated the participation of volunteers in COVID-19 fight.


President of MMA Dr Htin Aung Saw later expressed words of thanks while other attendees respectively coordinated the discussions.
