Pinlebu, 22 February
Opium weighing 3.92 kilos worth over K 11.75 million was seized near Tawyakyaung Pagoda, Pinlebu Township, Katha District, Sagaing Region yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, local police members led by Police Sub-Inspector Lwan Wai Aung from Pinlebu Myoma Police Station and eye witnesses searched the bag of a man and seized 3.9,192 kilograms of opium. But the man managed to escape the scene. The authorities are in hot pursuit of the suspect who is at large.–Lu Aung (Katha)
