Mongpyin, December 14
A passenger was found to have been infected with the virus in Mongpyin Township, Eastern Shan State on December 14, according to the township coronavirus disease control and treatment committee.
The virus positive patient was a passenger from a private bus line that departed for Mongpyin from Taunggyi on December 13. The bus driver and two passengers were tested with the use of a rapid test kit at a public hospital in Mongpyin. A 22-year old passenger was diagnosed with the virus and the virus patient is currently treated at Isolation Ward of the hospital.
The driver and another passenger are being observed at a community-based facility quarantine center and are given necessary healthcare service.
