Precaution measures against elephantiasis undertaken in Seikbyu Township

In order to prevent elephantiasis, medicines were distributed to local people through a domiciliary visit in the Seikbyu Township, Magway yesterday. 

 

The distribution of medicine was undertaken by officials from the township Health Department, departmental officials, social organization and officials from the villages. Pamphlets on elephantiasis were also disseminated to local people.

The project continues until 31 January and medicines were distributed to a total of 113,279 people except from pregnant women, chronic patients and children under two.

 

The elephantiasis is an infectious disorder which spreads through mosquito bite. The Ministry of Health and Sports is in preventative measures against the infectious disease in order to put an end to it in 2020.
