Police seized raw opium from a passenger at the crossing on Taunggyi- Meiktila road near Kywe Tatson village, Thazi Township, Meiktila District, Mandalay Region yesterday evening, according to Thazi Myoma police station.
While conducting an illegal drug search, police members led by Police Inspector Tin Tun Lin Aung from Anti-Drug Squad-18, Mandalay in collaboration with police from Thazi Myoma Police Station intercepted a passenger bus named “Nan Oo Wai” driven by U Zaw Win Maung en route from Taunggyi to Meiktila.
The authorities seized a packet of raw opium weighing 600 gram and two packets of raw opium, each weighing 1.4 kilogram, altogether three worth K 5.1 million, under the seat taken by U San Nyunt, 57.
Action is being taken against U San Nyunt of Ayechantha village, Tatkone Township by Thazi Myoma Police Station according to the law.— Bo Bo ( Mahaling)
