Children from a Beijing elementary school are recovering, a day after they were attacked there by a man with a hammer.
Local officials say 20 kids were taken to hospital.
Three suffered serious injuries but their conditions were stable.
Worried family members rushed to the school.
A grandfather of the school child said, "It would be fine if he attacked us old people, but the kids are young and innocent and they weren't able to defend themselves."
“A middle-aged maintenance worker from the school has been arrested for the attack. Local media say he was angry that his contract hadn't been renewed.
Violent attacks are rare in China, but in recent years there've been several on school children.
