A ceremony to donate a two-storey school facility and school furniture took place at a basic education middle school in Thamechaung Village, Kawa Township in Bago Region yesterday morning.
First, Chief Minister of Bago Region U Win Thein, Regional Minister for Planning and Finance U Nyunt Shwe, Deputy Director of the Department of Education Daw May Thet Ngwe and the lawmakers unveiled the new school structure and sprinkled scented water on it. Next, the regional chief minister and the deputy director spoke words of gratitude and donors handed over documents related to the new school to the headmistress.
Afterwards, the school headmistress presented certificates of honour to the donors. The new school building plus 80 desks were constructed at a cost of more than Ks. 80 million by the locals and alumni.—Tin Soe (Bago)
