Second Day of Children’s Literature Festival in Sagaing

Sagaing Region’s Children’s Literature Festival continued its second day yesterday and the festival was bustling with students, literary enthusiasts, parents, and local residents.

Festival participants enjoyed traditional dances and ethnic dances, elephant dance and playing Chinlone performed by Basic Education Schools in Sagaing District.

Then, students happily took part in various contests such as poetry, painting, storytelling, colouring, puzzling, speech contest, paper-folding, competition sayings, and Futsal football match and other joyful games.

Similarly, booths displayed by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Information and Ministry of Border Affairs, and craft galleries of Sagaing District have crowed with students, children, teachers and local people and also bookshops were full of buyers.

There were 81 bookshops and book sales made over K16,000,000 on 13 January and over K25,500,000 on 14 January.

Sagaing Region Women Association and Maternal and Child Welfare Association, Gems Entrepreneurs Association (Sagaing), MaMa Noodle, Ovaltine and Best White Coffee offered charity food to the festival participants.

The literature talk show was held featuring Regional Hluttaw representative Daw Su Myat Htet, Sayar Thit Wai Hka, Amaung (Bagan), Sayar Zaw Naung Hein and Sayar Thet Naing Tun and there were over 250 attendances.

The Children’s Literature Festival (Sagaing) attracted 70,000 people on 13 January and the number of visitors exceeded 80,000 on the second day.
