Second Pyithu Hluttaw 14th regular session held its 14th–day meeting yesterday at Pyithu Hluttaw building where questions raised were answered, a rule approved, a motion discussed and approved and two annual reports discussed and approved.

 

Question and answer session

 

In the question and answer session, questions raised by U Tin Nu (a) U Tin Nu Aung of Manaung constituency on conducting at least twice a week run of Kissapa Nadi vessel’s Manaung town to Kyaukpyu and Sittway town voyage and Dr Khin Soe Soe Kyi of Pyay constituency on compensation for land confiscated to construct Pyay-Pauk Khaung railroad section were answered by Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U Kyaw Myo.

 

Questions raised by Dr Than Aung Soe of Minhla constituency relating to modern poem and U Hla Tun Kyaw of Maungtaw constituency on constructing a 50 x 30 ft. building in Maungtaw Town 4 mile Ward, Magyigon village to hold Thet ethnic literature and traditional event were answered by Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint.

 

Questions raised by U Myo Zaw Aung of Kawlin constituency on monitoring and taking necessary action where necessary on mining companies operating near Kawlin Township Shan Kalone village, U Myint Kyi of Katha constituency on the matter of illegal farming in a forest reserve and U Aung Soe Min of Ywangan constituency on plan to take action against GPS company conducting illegal mining operation were answered by Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation Dr Ye Myint Swe

 

Hlutaw approves rule on Copying Case File

 

Following the question and answer session, bill committee member U Zaw Win submitted 11 amendments of the committee regarding Rule on Copying Case File sent by Union Supreme Court and Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Mat approved the rule after obtaining the comment of the Union Supreme Court and the decision of the Hluttaw. Pyithu Huttaw Speaker then obtained the comment of the Hluttaw on approving the entire Rule on Copy Case File and as there was no objection, announced the approval of the Hluttaw.

 

Motion for cultivation and conservation of mangrove forests along coastal area

 

Afterwards, motion for cultivation and conservation of mangrove forests along coastal area tabled by U Aye Naing of Dagon Myothit (South) constituency was discussed by U Aung Naing of Mogok constituency, U Maung Myint of Mingin constituency, U Min Thaing of Bogale constituency, Daw Mya Khwa Nyo Oo of Shwedaung constituency, U Min Kyi of Thandwe constituency, U Ohn Khin of Palaw constituency, U Win Htut of Pyapon constituency, Dr Daw Khin Nyo of Dedaye constituency, U Nay Htet Win of Sinbaungwe constituency, U Kyaw Swe Win of Kawhmu constituency, Tatmadaw Pyithu Hluttaw representative Lt-Col Soe Myint Aung and U Win Min of Hlinethaya constituency.
In discussing the motion Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation Dr Ye Myint Swe said that under the guidance of central committee for the administration and management of natural resources in coastal areas (national level) Forest Department was conducting systematic management and protection of natural mangrove forests along the coastal area. Projects were drawn up and implemented to cultivate and establish mangrove forest and cooperated with relevant state/region governments, ministries, non-governmental organizations and international organizations. As it was required to protect and maintain mangrove forests to prevent and mitigate against natural disasters and climate change the ministry requests for the motion to be approved.

 

The Hluttaw representative who tabled the motion wanted the motion approved and as there was no objection toward it, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker announced the motion approved by the Hluttaw.

 

Hluttaw discuss and approves committee annual reports

 

Later, Pyithu Hluttaw Judicial and Legal Affairs Committee annual report was discussed by U Myint Kyi of Katha constituency, U Nyan Hein of Thanbyuzayat constituency and U Myat Lay Oo of Htilin constituency. Committee secretary U Hla Than responded to the discussion of the Hluttaw representatives and committee member U Tun Tun Win tabled a motion for the report to be approved. Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker obtained the decision of the Hluttaw and then announced Hluttaw’s approval of it.

 

Similarly Pyithu Hluttaw Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation Committee annual report was discussed by U Myat Lay Oo of Htilin constituency, U Min Thein of Taungdwingyi constituency and U Win Thein Zaw of Salingyi constituency. Committee Chairman U Soe Thura Tun responded to the discussion of the Hluttaw representatives, committee secretary U Aye Naing tabled a motion for Hluttaw to approve the report, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker obtained the decision of the Hluttaw and then announced Hluttaw’s approval of it. 15th day meeting of 14th regular session of Second Pyithu Hluttaw was scheduled for 13 December.Ayt Aye Thant (MNA) (Translated by Zaw Min)
