ACCORDING to the football authorities, Shan United FC, defending champions of the Myanmar National League, appointed U Han Win Aung as its new head coach.

U Han Win Aung played as a critical player for Kanbawza Football Club (now Shan United) in 2009 and retired as an assistant coach at his home club.

Shan United has won the MNL championship for two consecutive seasons. Still, the team authorities made a significant change for the new season as former head coach U Aung Naing is now acting as a technical director position.

“For the first time in the club’s history, former head coach U Aung Naing was able to claim the league champion title for two consecutive seasons. However, in addition to training young coaches, he was reassigned to take charge of senior and youth teams and youth development projects,” the club authorities said.

Shan United is now making preparations for the new MNL season and has already signed Ayeyawady United winger Thiha Zaw on a two-year deal.

Thiha Zaw played for the Ayeyawady United in the 2020 season of the Myanmar National League and assisted his team to finish in the third-place position.

Currently, Shan United has already signed up to five new player details announced in the coming days, officials said.
