Singaporeans visit Myanmar on their own motorcars

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has been planning travel itinerary for international travellers to visit Myanmar safely and conveniently with a view to promoting tourism industry in the country.

The ministry also organized some travel routes for foreigners who enter the country through border checkpoints to enjoy natural scenery and traditional cultural customs of ethnic people. 7 tourists from Singapore toured Myanmar on their own motorcars by crossing the Hteekhee border gate in Taninthayi Region on 11 January under the management of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and Marvelous Memory Co., Ltd.

They also travelled to Dawei, Mawlamyine, Yangon, Ngapali, MraukU, mandalay, Inle, Kengtung and Tachilek and departed for Thailand through the Tachilek border checkpoint on 25 January. This is open season in Myanmar and some travel restrictions were eased to attract more tourists. Foreigners are continuously entering Myanmar by land, air and sea to visit significant tourist attraction sites in the country.
