Lawksawk Township Department of Rural Development and German Development Bank (KFW) jointly conducted to install solar panels in 13 villages in Marthae village-tract in Lawksawk Township, Shan State (South).
Under the National Electrification Project, the installation of solar panels was undertaken with funds of the government and KFW. A total of 725 solar panels were installed in houses in the villages. In addition, 88 lamp posts were also set up in the villages. The solar panels lit up 12 schools, two rural health care centers and 12 religious buildings.
In addition, rural electrification projects will be implemented in 67 villages in 12 village-tracts in Lawksawk Township, according to an official from the Township Department of Rural Development.
