Stimulant pills and heroin were seized near the railway of Pinmalut village, Katha Township, Sagaing Region yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, local police members from Katha Anti-Drug Squad-6 searched two motorbikes driven by Min Thu of Thantaw village and Wa So of Pannyo village in Wuntho Township and seized a total of 1,700 stimulant pills including 1,600 WY branded stimulant tablets and 100 stimulant pills weighing 170 grams worth K 8.5 million and 200 grams of white powder believed to be heroin worth K 20 million hidden in 20 soap cases.
The local police station has filed charges against Min Thu, 27 and Wa So, 40 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. –Aye Mya Thet Hta
