Suspension bridge constructed in Phayathonzu

Phayathonzu, 22 December

A suspension bridge connecting Payathozu and Kyaukbelu village, Kyain Seikgyi Township, Kawkerik District in Kayin State was opened this morning.

The opening ceremony was attended by Sayadaw Bhaddata Wayatharme of Seinpya monastery, Sayadaw Bhaddanta Eaindawuntha of Kyaukgyi monastery and Sayadaw Bhaddanta Seiktaya of Weekhame monastery, Hluttaw representatives and Phayathonzu Administrator, departmental personnel, KNU Chairman and local residents numbering 250.

The departmental officials opened the suspension bridge which is 229-ft length, 5-feet width and 31-feet height.

 The bridge was constructed under the guidance of the government from 20 October to 12 December.

The bridge cost K 11o million in total which was donated by donors, Green City Co Ltd, Kayin State government, monks and local people. –Aung Thu Hein
