Tatmadaw captures Assam, Kathe insurgents’ camp, arms

TROOPS of the Tatmadaw carried out security operations near Takar Village in the Naga Self-administered Zone, Sagaing Region, from 8 to 19 February, and captured a camp, arrested four insurgents, and recovered 53 weapons and ammunition, according to news released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief yesterday.

According to recent reports, the troops of the Tatmadaw also carried out security operations in the NSCN(K) camp and area near Takar Village in the Naga Self-administered Zone on 29 January, acting on information that Assam and Kathe insurgents were moving there.

So far, the Tamadaw troops have arrested six members of the NSCN(K), six insurgents, and seized 79 weapons and assorted ammunition.

The troops will continue their security operations to prevent infiltration by insurgents into the Naga Self-administered Zone and to provide stability to the zone, said the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services. —MNA (Translated by GNLM)
