Tourists flock to Myanmar on their own motorcars

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has been planning travel itinerary for globetrotters to visit Myanmar conveniently with the aim of promoting tourism industry.

The ministry also organized some travel routes for foreigners who enter the country through border checkpoints to enjoy natural scenery and traditional cultural customs of ethnic people. 14 tourists from India visited Myanmar on their own motorcars by crossing the Tamu border gate on 21 January under the management of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and Traventure Travels & Tours Co., Ltd.

They also toured Kalay, Monywa, Bagan, Bago, and Myawady for five days. They left for Thailand through the Myawady border checkpoint on 26 January. This is open season in Myanmar and some travel restrictions were eased to attract more tourists.

Foreigners are continuously entering Myanmar by land, air and sea to visit significant tourist attraction sites in the country.—MOHT
