The Department of Trade under the Ministry of Commerce will provide online services for export and import licences as of 1 April, aiming to reduce person-to-person contacts in preventing the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Under the new service, the process of licence applications, fee payment and receiving licences can be done online.
The online services will cover CMP businesses (garment), imports of medicines and related items, hospital equipment, foodstuffs, fertilizers, palm oil and oil products, milk and dairy products, electronic gadgets, items for fuel, lubricants, motorbikes and bicycles. Online export licences will be issued for agricultural products, lead, sugar, natural gas and other products.
The details of HS Codes will be posted on the ministry’s website www.commerce.gov.mm.
Licence applications can be processed on www.myanmartradenet.com.mm, for the maritime and border trades.
The companies need to apply for member registrations, and application fee can be paid with the MCB eCommerce Pay of the Myanmar Citizens Bank at present, and the MPU eCommerce pay will be available soon.
For custom clearance processes, the electronic data must be sent to the Myanmar Automated Cargo Clearance System (MACCS) of Customs Department.
The merchants will have to apply for Myanmar Tradenet Member, installing Google Authenticator on mobile phones for security and synchronizing the Google Authenticator with Myanmar Tradenet Account and MCB account.
