Trucks carrying illegal cattle seized in Yenangyoung Township

Five trucks carrying illegal cattle were seized near a security checkpoint in Yenangyoung Township, Magway Region today. 

 


Acting on a tip-off, a police squad led by the head of the township police force Police Major Zaw Min together with eye witnesses stopped suspicious vehicles bound for Yenangyoung from Magway on 14 February. The police inspected the vehicles and found 100 bulls in the trucks. According to the initial investigation, the drivers attempted to transport the cattle without prior permission.

 


A local police station opened files for a lawsuit against the drivers and their colleagues who smuggled the cattle without permissions under Section 5 of the Important Commodities and Services Law.—Ko Soe Gyi
