Tun Tun Min, Yar Mhan battle to a draw in MLWC-5

VETERAN Lethwei fighter Tun Tun Min fought to a draw against youth fighter Yar Mhan in the 80- kilo bout of the Myanmar Lethwei World Championship 5 which was held behind the closed door in Yangon yesterday.

As Tun Tun Min is a defending champion of the MLWC, Yar Mhan hesitated to launch an open attack at first.

In the first and second rounds, Yar Mhan tried to stop the veteran Lethwei fighter Tun Tun Min with his high heels, but to no avail.

In the fourth and fifth rounds, Tun Tun Min stabbed Yar Mhan, who was playing defensively in a back-to-back style, with his left elbow, right fist, straight fist, and high kick.

The young fighter Yar Mhan endured till the end of the fight to grab the draw result against veteran player Tun Tun Min.

As the fight ended with a draw, Yar Mhan could not take the championship belt from the defending champion Tun Tun Min.

In other traditional boxing bouts, in the 67-kilo event, Dhana Aung (White Blood Club) defeated Saw Ayine (Thatti Club) in the third round.

In the 63- kilo fight, Golden Belt Champion Byat Gha (White Tiger) fought to a draw against Saw Htein Lin (Dol Yoe Yar).

In another 63-kilo bout, Saw Shwe Lay fought to a draw against Aphoe The (New White Blood).

In the 62-kilometre Lethwei event, Kyar The vs Thar Din (Pho Yar Za) fight ended to a draw.

Next, in the 61-kilo event, Ka Naung The vs Paying Thet Aung (Kanyaw Thwee) fight also ended to a draw. With the supervision of the Myanmar Martial Arts Group (MMAG), all the fights were launched following the COVID-19 rules and regulations, and the Championship was broadcasted live yesterday on Skynet Sports-4 and Skynet Sports-HD Channels.
