UNICEF supplies for COVID-19 measures arrive in Yangon

A special flight carrying the supplies of UNICEF to Myanmar in measures against COVID-19 landed at the Yangon International Airport from Shanghai city of China yesterday afternoon. The US$334,330.42 worth PPE sets and related items of the UN body will be presented to the Ministry of Health and Sports.


On 9 June evening, another special flight arrived in Yangon with the PPE sets and related supplies worth about $431,941.76 of the UNICEF for Myanmar.


With the supports of Gavi, the UNICEF presented COVID-19 test kits and other medical supplies to Myanmar in May, and it also provided its own aid.


Myanmar is now receiving COVID-19 medical supplies from the UN organizations such as WHO, and India, China, Korea, Singapore and Japan.—Zaw Gyi
