A rice donation to the monasteries and nunneries was held in Lewe Township in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The ceremony at Paukmyaing Parirati Monastery was attended by local senior monks, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko, the Permanent Secretary, the Director-General and officials of Religious Affairs Department attended the ceremony.
The Union Minister and department heads took five precepts from Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Janinda and shared merits by pouring the water of libation after donating the rice and offertories.
The Union Minister and party donated a total of 145 rice bags for the monasteries and nunneries in Lewe township of Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
