A rice donation to the monasteries and nunneries in Pyinmana of Nay Pyi Taw was held with a ceremony at Mingalar Byuhar Sasana Monastery yesterday morning.
Five monks including Ovadacariya of Uppatasanti Pagoda Board of Trustees Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Vimala Bodhi, patron of Mingalar Zeyone Pali Takkattho Monastery in Pyinmana township of Nay Pyi Taw, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko, the Permanent Secretary, the Director-General and officials of Religious Affairs Department attended the ceremony.
Union Minister and department heads took five precepts from Parton Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vimala Bodhi of Mingalar Zeyone Pali Takkattho Monastery and donated rice and offertories.
Then, the Union Minister and party also donated rice to monasteries and nunneries in Pobbathiri and Zeyathiri townships at the refectory of Aungsi Sasana Parirati Monastery in Pobbathiri.
The Union Minister and party donated a total of 259 rice bags for the monasteries and nunneries in Pyinmana, Pobbathiri and Zeyathiri townships in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
