A rice donation to the monasteries and nunneries was held at Mahajanaka Monastery of Mahajanaka Beikman in Tatkon Township of Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
Five monks including Ovadacariya of Uppatasanti Pagoda Board of Trustees Venerable Sayadaw Abhidhajamaharatthaguru Bhaddanta Acinna, patron of Maha Thiha Nada Monastery in Tatkon Township of Nay Pyi Taw, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko, the Permanent Secretary, the Director-General and officials of Religious Affairs Department attended the ceremony.
Union Minister and department heads took five precepts from Parton Sayadaw Bhaddanta Acinna of Maha Thiha Nada Monastery and donated rice and offertories.
The ceremony came to an end with the sermons of Sayadaw Mahaganthavacakapandita Bhaddanta Pannava, patron of Myo U Pariyatti Monastery.
The Union Minister and party donated a total of 114 rice bags for the monasteries and nunneries in Tatkon Township of Nay Pyi Taw.
