Union Minister U Han Zaw organizes virtual meeting with directors of Road Departments

Union Minister for Construction U Han Zaw organized a virtual meeting with directors of Road Departments across the country to discuss development of roads and bridges via videoconferencing yesterday morning.


During the meeting, the Union Minister urged the directors to take efforts to ensure continuation of road and bridge projects in their states. He said that the roads and bridges damaged by natural disasters need to be repaired quickly. He also urged the officials concerned to regularly inspect the roads and bridges. He told the participants to explain the progress of their projects and future plans.


Deputy Minister Dr Kyaw Linn called on the directors to focus on timely completion of their projects. He also told them to adhere to financial regulations. After that, directors from Road Departments of Kachin, Chin, Kayah, and Rakhine States, Northern Shan State, Southern Shan State and Eastern Shan State, and Sagaing and Magway Regions made presentations to explain about their projects and COVID-19 preventive measures in the workplaces. The Permeant Secretary and the Director-General also made discussions and suggestions in the virtual meeting.


The Union Minister and Deputy Minister said that the construction projects need to be completed timely and have good quality. They urged the officials to offer effective supervisions in carrying out the construction projects. Regarding COVID-19 related measures in workplaces, they urged the participants to adhere to the health guidelines set by the Ministry of Health and Sports and the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).—MNA
