U Kyaw Tin, Union Minister for International Cooperation, received Mrs Anne Elisabeth Luwema, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at 2:00 pm on 26 October 2020 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the meeting, the Union Minister congratulated the Ambassador on her recent appointment as the Ambassador of Netherlands to Myanmar. They also cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further advancement of existing bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation in the fields of common interest including trade and investment, agriculture and water resources management between Myanmar and Netherlands, preparations made for the successful holding of forthcoming Myanmar’s General Elections to be held in November 2020 in accordance with COVID-19 prevention health guidelines, ongoing Myanmar’s peace and national reconciliation processes, latest developments of Rakhine State and constructive support of development partners towards the Myanmar government’s efforts for sustainable development and repatriation of displaced persons in Rakhine State.
