Vietnamese Prime Minister arrives in Yangon

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, accompanied by Union Minister for Education Dr Myo Thein Gyi and officials, left Nay Pyi Taw for Yangon yesterday afternoon by a special flight.

They were welcomed at the Yangon International Airport by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein, Yangon Mayor U Maung Maung Soe, Security and Border Affairs Minister of Yangon Region Government Colonel Aung Soe Moe, Director-General U Aung Myo Myint from the Strategic Studies and Training Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and officials from the Vietnamese embassy.

The Prime Minister and party first visited the Vietnamese embassy, and held a meeting with embassy staff, Vietnamese businesspersons and invited guests.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister and party enjoyed a dinner hosted by the Vietnamese Ambassador Dr. Luan Thuy Duong at the Melia Hotel on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road.—MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
