World Lethwei Championship: Battlebones Fight planned in Yangon on 31 Jan

A special event titled ‘Battlebones Fight’ will be organized as part of the World Lethwei Championship on 31 January at the Theinbyu Indoor Stadium in Yangon.


The event will have men’s and women’s bouts, featuring Myanma lethwei fighters versus foreign fighters. The competitors will use the fighting style of Myanma traditional lethwei, including various clinching techniques. All the fights will be bare-knuckled, without gloves, with only tape and gauze allowed on the hands of the fighters. In the main event, the men’s middleweight class, Myanmar lethwei star Too Too will fight against Naimoin Tuhtaboven of Uzbekistan


In the women’s Bantamweight class, Souris Manfredi of France will take on Tran Thi Lua of Viet Nam. In the men’s welterweight class, Myanmar’s Saw Kaung Htet will face Italian fighter Samuel Toscano. In the men’s lightweight event, Hein Tun Aung of Myanmar will fight with Cambodian fighter Em Sothy.


In another men’s welterweight event, Myanmar fighter Thar Win Tun will fight with another Myanmar fighter Eh Mwe.


In another lightweight event, Lin Htet Naing of Myanmar will take on Zin Bo of Myanmar. Tickets for the lethwei event will be priced at K10,000, K15,000, and K30,000, and advance tickets will be available for K15,000 and K30,000 only from 13 January and can be booked on the phone number—09-775100100, according to the World Lethwei Championship.
