The lions are set to play against the Shan warriors at Aung San Stadium in Yangon at 3:30 p.m. today for the annual Myanmar Football Federation’s Charity Cup.
Traditionally, the match which heralds the start of the domestic football season must be played by the Myanmar National League champion and the winner of the knock-out General Aung San Shield. But Yangon United was crowned both the league and knockout trophies while Shan United finished in the second place in both competitions last year. The match will be broadcast live on MRTV and also a live streaming broadcast on 11.
The event will be staged in conjunction with entertainment programmes and ticket prices are set at Ks. 1,000 and Ks. 2,000. Proceeds from the charity match will go to philanthropic centers.
