23 Sep

The rice depots under Myanmar Rice Millers Association (MRMA) will be opened three days a week in Wahdan and Bayintnaung wholesale commodity depots during the pandemic period, according to an announcement of MRMA on 21 September. The rice depots are the main places for distributing daily food supplies to consumers from across the country, and it is a necessary place for the collection of foods.

Previously, MRMA opened its rice depots every day except Sunday. According to the stay at home announcement released by the Ministry of Health and Sports on 20 September, the rice depots from Wahdan in Lanmadaw township and Bayintnaung commodity in Mayangon township will be opened three days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:30 am to 10:00 am. We have already made it known to the members of MRMA and buyers. If we amend the announcement, we will make a new announcement again. Those who will come to the rice depots need to follow the COVID-19 rules and regulations laid out by the Ministry of Health and Sports, according to MRMA. These rice commodity exchanges are organizations that mainly focus on the stability of rice prices and the rapid flow of the goods across the country.
