With the aim of distributing electricity in the villages in Kyaukpadaung Township, rural electrification projects were implemented in two villages in Kyaukpadaung Township, Nyaun-U District, Mandalay Region.
The electrification projects were undertaken with funds of Mandalay Region Government in the two villages. The households in the villages were distributed electricity starting from 9 October, according to Township Electrical Manager U Kyaw Moe.
The installation of 11 KV power transmission line and construction of 11/0.4 KV transformers were conducted with the capital of the regional government in 2019-2020 FY and the installation of 400 V power transmission line was undertaken with public contribution, he added.
A total of 168 out of 399 villages in the township have access to electricity. In addition, arrangements are being made to supply electricity to other remaining villages in the township.
