Tachilek, 23 January

A work coordination meeting on construction of a four-mile long detour near the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge No.2 was held at the meeting room of the General Administration Department in Tachilek, Eastern Shan State on 22 January.

According to the decision made by the concerned officials during the meeting, construction works will be carried out phase-by-phase by line departments. In the first phase, a feasibility study will be conducted and a list of the owners of the houses and farms in the project area will be complied and compensated.

The meeting was attended by regional lawmaker U Khin Maung Tint, Assistant Commissioner U Zaw Win Htay, Township Administrator U Chan Myae Saw, representatives from the Department of Road, the Department of Irrigation, the Settlement and Land Records Department, the Department of Agriculture and local authorities.—IPRD
