Hakha, 14 December

A fire broke out in Lauklung Village in Hakha Township, Chin State at about 5:00 pm on 13 December, and destroyed a house.

The fire was thought to have started from overheated electric rice cooker in the home of U Thaung Hi in the village.  

Firefighters from the township Fire Service Department rushed to the scene to put out the fire in collaboration with locals using a fire engine, and the blaze was totally extinguished. But no casualties were reported.

Three family members are currently taking shelter at the homes of their relatives in the village and are provided with relief supplies by local authorities.
