The Myanmar traditional bullock cart show was held at the sports grounds in Myaung Township, Sagaing Region this morning.


On the occasion, Regional lawmaker Dr. Kyaw Naing Tun, Chairman of the township management committee U Tin Tun Aung, Chairman of the township development affairs committee U Tin Tun, and officials from the Department of Immigration and Population and the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department opened the show by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.

First, Regional lawmaker Dr. Kyaw Naing Tun gave an opening speech. Chairman of the township management committee U Tin Tun Aung then delivered an address and the official from the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department explained disciplines to be followed by the participants. “The aim of the event is to preserve our traditional bullock cart show in order to disseminate the new generation about it. We also want to encourage the farmers, said U Tint Lwin Soe, an event organizer.


The show is categorized into three kinds—the junior, intermediate and senior levels. The event is being held from 24 to 29 January,” the organizer added.—Tin Ko Ko (IPRD)
