Inauguration ceremonies of rural electrification facilities were held in Taungtha, Htonbo and Kyayin villages in Taungoo Township and Singwe village in Yedashe Township, Bago Region on January 2.

 

First, Bago Region Chief Minister U Win Thein and officials attended the launching ceremony of a rural electrification facility in Taungtha village. On the occasion, the Regional Chief Minister gave remarks and they then opened the electrification structure. Next, the officials launched the rural electrification facilities in Htanbo, Kyayin and Singwe villages.

 

In Taungoo Township, the electrification projects were conducted with funds of Bago Regional Government and public contributions. There are a total of 265 villages in the township and out of which, 172 villages have access to electricity. In addition, arrangements are being made to distribute electricity to the villages without electricity.
