Sittwe, 5 January
A ground-breaking ceremony for construction of a housing project for government employees was held in the compound of a 500-bedded public hospital in Sittwe, Rakhine State on January 4.
At first, Medical Superintendent of Sittwe General Hospital Dr Zaw Lwin clarified the purpose of building the housing and construction works. Next, Chief Minister of Rakhine State U Nyi Pu, Rakhine State Minister for Social Affairs Dr Chan Tha, head of Rakhine State Department of Public Health Dr Sai Win Zaw Hlaing, and the medical superintendent drove the stakes and sprinkled scented water on it.
The project will consist of ten houses and each house will measure 40 ft. in length and 60 ft. in width. The housing project will be developed by UNOPS with the financial assistance of Norwegian embassy in Myanmar.
