Union Minister for Home Affairs Let-Gen Soe Htut inspected the Insein Central Prison, Myanmar Fire Services Department headquarters in Mayangon Township, and the Dagon Myothit (South) Township Fire Station on 7 January.
The Union Minister and party first visited the Insein Prison where the Department of Correction’s Acting Director-General U Zaw Min, Yangon Region Office Head Director U Zaw Zaw, the prison’s in-charge and officials explained the prison’s works with the use of PowerPoint, and the Union Minister coordinated the requirements.
He also inspected the prison’s buildings from the prison tower and going inside the buildings, investigating of the offenders via videoconferencing, the rooms for quarantining new prisoners, and also met the family members of the staff. The Union Minister visited the Myanmar Fire Services Department headquarters in Mayangon Township and inspected its command and control centre.
He also visited the Dagon Myothit (South) Township Fire Station, inspected the fire extinguishing equipment, viewed the drill of the firefighters, looked around the staff apartments, their agriculture and breeding works, and also met the family members of the staff. —MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
