Wakema 26 January

The renovation works of Wakema Suspension Bridge was started on 9 January in Wakema Township, Myaungmya District, Ayewady Region and the Inland Water Transport has arranged one vessel for public convenience.

However, local residents want two vessels to ply the river for swift and smooth flow of commodity and to be more convenient for education and health care services during the renovation of the bridge.

“If there are two vessels, travelers can save time and they can arrive easily and safely at their destinations. It will be more convenient for travellers with poor health. The flow of commodity can come to a halt if this vessel encounters something wrong. Therefore, we want two vessels to ply during the project” said local residents.
