Township level school enrolment day ceremony was held at the hall Basic Education High School in Kawhmu Township, Yangon Region this morning.

At the event, Chairman of the Township Administration Council U Kyaw De Wa and member of the State Administration Council Maj. Tun Zaw Min delivered speeches. Afterwards, the Township Education officer Daw Nu Nu Kyi explained about work processes undertaken for all school-age children.

Afterwards, Chairman of the Township Administration Council U Kyaw De Wa and members handed over stationeries, note books, masks and face shields provided by the government to the school.

The ceremony was held in line with COVID-19 health guidelines set by Ministry of Health and Sports amid the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

Teachers, school heads and officials from Ministry of Education have worked together to reopen schools that have been closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Schools will be reopened on 1 June in line with the COVID-19 rules and regulations, and school enrolment week is set from 24 to 31 May across the country.—Kyaw Thura, IPRD
