A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister Dr. Pe Myint visited Philippine News Agency (PNA) in Quezon City and observed the work of PNA and PNA Director Virgina R. Archilla-Agtay explained in detail about PNA’s policy on gathering news, organisation of PNA, collection of news from all the regions of the country, editing and publishing news.
From there they went on to Philippine Information Agency (PIA) where Director General Harold E. Clavide and officials explained about PIA’s news information policy and work processes, distribution of news to the people through radio, television and social networks. Next, at the Radyo Pilipinas studio, Union Minister Dr. Pe Myint, Philippines Presidential Communications Operations (PCOO) Secretary Jose Ruperto Martin M. Andar and Deputy Permanent Secretary U Myint Kyaw discussed and broadcasted signing of memorandum of understanding on bilateral information sector cooperation and the matter of bilateral cooperation on media and information in the Cabinet Report program of Radyo Pilipinas.
Afterwards they went to People’s Television Network (PTV) where PTV Station Manager Ms. Alan L. Allanigue explained about production and broadcasting of PTV programs, cooperation and program exchanges conducted with international audio/video broadcasting organisations and conducted a television interview with Union Minister Dr. Pe Myint on status of bilateral cooperation in media sector. Later in the afternoon the Union Minister went to Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) where MTRCB Executive Director Atty. Ann Marie L. Nemenzo provided explanations on status of rating movies and television programs and organisation of MTRCB.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
