A handover ceremony of 100 rice bags and 100 viss of cooking oil donated by the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was held at the town hall in Falam, Chin State yesterday afternoon.

At the ceremony, the deputy township administrator and a local official handed over the supplies to village officials. Officials from the General Administration Department transferred the items to a Buddhist missionary school a nunnery, a youth development center and an orphanage.

The State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi pledged to donate rice and cooking oil to locals during her visit to Falam on 21 January.—John
