Local authorities led by Police Capt. Kyaw Zin from Waingmaw Police Station destroyed 47  acres of illegally grown poppy plantations in nine villages in Waingmaw Township, Kachin State from January 25 to February 1.

Local authorities also destroyed destroyed 138 acres of poppy in 18 villages Waingmaw Township last year. 

A total of 47 acres of five feet high blooming poppies have been destroyed in nine villages in the township by local authorities.—Waingmaw, IPRD
