An opening ceremony of new office of Department of Rural Development to mark the 75th Union Day was held in Ottarathiri Township, Naypyidaw Union Territory on 8 February.

U Khant Zaw, permanent secretary of Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, U Thein Lwin, Director-General of Department of Rural Development and deputy Director-General of DRD, officials from Department of DRD and invited guests attended the event.

During the event, permanent secretary of Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development U Khant Zaw, Director-General of Department of Rural Development U Thein Lwin and U Myo Myo, staff officer of the region DRD cut a ceremonial ribbon to formally open the office and sprinkled scented water on its signboard.—Min Ye Naing
