An opening ceremony of a rural concrete road took place in Phayar Ngoketo Village, Hlaingbwe Township in Kayin State on Saturday.
Firstly, a village-tract administrator and an official from the technical advisory body of the township community driven development project gave speeches and a village elder sprinkled scented water on the stone inscription of the road. Afterwards, the village administrator and an official from the technical advisory body of the township community driven development project cut a ceremonial ribbon to open the road.
The new concrete road is 746 ft. long, 12 ft. wide and 6 inch thick. It was built at a cost of Ks. 9 million financed by the township community driven development project and Ks. 1.5 million donated by local people totaling Ks. 10.5 million.—Min Myint Mo (Nganzun)
